Comfort Keepers is seeking a dedicated, experienced Internal Care Coordinator (ICC) for our Elkhart, Granger, South Bend office. At Comfort Keepers, we provide uplifting in-home care for seniors and older adults who require a helping hand, a supportive companion, and day-to-day assistance in their home. The ICC is responsible for providing engaged, extraordinary service to Seniors in the South Bend and surrounding area, while achieving consistent growth for our office. As an Internal Care Coordinator (ICC) you will have the opportunity to find and support our caregivers in delivering one-on-one care that enhances quality of life of our clients and their families.  

Job Summary: The Internal Care Coordinator (ICC) is responsible for developing and maintaining caregiver schedules, ensuring all shifts are covered according to client care plans. Prioritizes critical needs positions and ensures timely staffing of these roles.  Match caregivers to clients based on skills, experience, availability, and client preferences.  Address and resolve scheduling conflicts or issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to care services. Communicate with clients and their families regarding scheduling, changes, and any relevant updates.

Assist with the onboarding of new caregivers to include completion of new hire paperwork, etc. Maintain an understanding and knowledge of staffing, recruitment and retention initiatives for the office/region and proactively seek and implement new, creative recruitment tactics to attract qualified candidates.  

Participates in a rotating on-call schedule, addressing the needs of clients and caregivers, and managing new client inquiries as needed. Collaborating with managers and local business partners to compile a consistent list of staffing requirements. Provide recruitment reports to Manager.  ICC will work directly with the External Care Coordinator (ECC), CCC, Managers, Caregivers, to ensure that client’s shifts and hours are matched with caregiver qualifications to ensure great experience for our clients.  The Internal Care Coordinator will work closely with internal and external contacts including Managers, External Care Coordinators, Caregivers, Clients and Family Members, Referral Sources, and outside Vendors.  Performs other administrative and field tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior scheduling experience is a plus
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and outstanding people management skills. 
  • Strong relationship-building skills with people from diverse and varied backgrounds and education levels.  
  • Exceptional customer service skills and written / verbal communication. 
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license with the ability to pass a background check (including motor vehicle records check).
