QUALIFICATIONS
● Must be a Certified Home Health Aide for New Jersey
● Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
● Your own safe automobile and valid automobile insurance
● Must be able to pass a criminal background check
● Must be at least 21 years old
● High school diploma or GED required
● Previous experience preferred
● Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
● Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
● Effective oral and written communication
● Excellent interpersonal skills
● Exceptional customer service skills
● Neat, clean, and professional appearance
● Willing to drive to private homes in the area to perform the duties of this position
● Willing and able to work a flexible schedule
● Able to follow verbal and written instructions and document services provided
● Able to function independently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision
● Able to maintain satisfactory relationships with clients, family, and team members
● Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assists client with all personal care functions as needed (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, ambulation, feeding)
● Performs light housekeeping tasks (such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens) and assists with laundry (washing, folding, ironing)
● Assists in meeting nutritional needs by providing meal planning, meal preparation, grocery shopping, dishes and kitchen clean-up
● Assists client to and from daily activities (doctor appointment, errands, social activities, etc.)
● Reminds client to take self-administered medications.
● Records in the In-Home Client Logbook what was done daily and your observations in compliance with regulations and standards
● Observes and reports any changes in client's mental, physical or emotional condition or home situation to supervisor.
● Establishes and maintains effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, and co-workers
