Becoming a Comfort Keepers caregiver is a kind and helpful way to make seniors and their families happy. We want to thank you, so we offer caregivers special rewards to show we care about them.
Before joining our team at Comfort Keepers, we always complete thorough background checks. Any job offer or timing of an offer is based on the results of your background check. Once you’ve accepted a position with us, you’ll be welcomed to the team with a paid training period. We do a complete orientation and onboarding process that includes online courses and guidance on any training required by your state and local regulations. After completing orientation and onboarding, you will work closely with our team to create a starting schedule.
Whether you’re looking for a part-time job or a lifelong caregiving career, we have something for you. We’re always looking for compassionate people who want to help others. In addition to a fulfilling career and an encouraging work environment, we also offer the following benefits to all of our caregivers:
Our wonderful in-home senior caregivers are here to help older adults who might need assistance with their daily activities. This includes not only the physical things but also the mental and emotional aspects. At Comfort Keepers, our caregivers do this right in the homes of those they help. This way, seniors can keep their independence and feel cozy while still getting all the care they deserve.
Every person is unique, and the care they need is no different. For some seniors, a little assistance with things like combing their hair or taking a bath is what makes their day better. However, for others, more constant care is required, even day and night. Regardless of the specific care someone needs, our caregivers always offer their best help and support. They’re dedicated to making sure seniors get the top-quality care they deserve.
Because personal care can be a touchy subject for many seniors, our caregivers must offer help with empathy and respect. Personal caregivers can help seniors with their daily routines, help them move around the home, and help feed and dress them. Many caregivers also remind seniors to take their medications on time. In addition, they often help bathe and feed seniors who have trouble doing so on their own. Seniors often need help with personal care part-time when their family caregivers are at work or on vacation.
Many seniors need companionship to thrive at home. As their children grow older and have their own families, they can feel isolated and lonely. Companion caregivers make a big difference in the lives of their clients and actively make their lives whole. Frequently, companion caregivers do activities with their seniors, such as going for walks, having lunch together, and chatting.
Some seniors need more specialized care to accommodate an illness or condition. All of our caregivers are specially trained to help seniors who have Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other conditions. In addition to personal care and companionship, our specialized caregivers help seniors prevent and treat illnesses. For example, a caregiver who has a senior with dementia may do regular memory care exercises with them to slow down the progression of their disease.
The first thing that you will learn when taking care of a senior is that there is no such thing as a typical workday. Caregivers often have a mix of seniors who need care every few weeks and others who require 24-hour care.
Some days, you might find yourself caring for a senior who has just gotten home from the hospital and needs help taking medication and positioning themselves correctly. On other days, you might spend quality time with a senior who needs companionship, taking them to the local senior center or treating them to lunch.
While the level of care needed can change based on the senior, you can expect some everyday duties to include help with household chores, cooking, bathing, and getting to doctor’s appointments. Don’t let this scare you; Comfort Keepers will give you everything you need to care for seniors and yourself effectively.
Comfort Keepers of New Hampshire welcomes individuals who embody reliability, honesty, and compassion and who find fulfillment in spending time with our cherished seniors. The roles of caregivers and personal care assistants extend far beyond tasks; they encompass companionship and tending to personal needs, creating profound impacts on the lives they touch. Our commitment to delivering exceptional in-home care is rooted in the careful selection and thorough training of caregivers and home health aides, ensuring the utmost quality of support for our clients.
As Comfort Keepers continues to flourish and expand, it opens doors for personal growth and professional development. This journey with us is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a compassionate team devoted to nurturing a positive and caring environment for our seniors. Joining Comfort Keepers means embracing a path of mutual growth—where you provide unwavering care and, in turn, find your enrichment and development. Your compassion can genuinely make a difference here.
